The FDA Takes A Closer Look At Chantix

05/30/2008- The FDA is taking a closer look at anti-smoking drug Chantix...it may be causing serious side effects in some users.

The FDA is examining medical records involved in hundreds of reports of potential side effects, but has not yet determined whether any of these side effects are related to the drug, or to something else.

The FAA isn't waiting for the FDA. Last week, they removed Chantix from the list of drugs that are considered safe for pilots and air traffic controllers.

If you are currently taking Chantix and have concerns about its safety, you should consult with your doctor regarding your treatment options. Under no circumstances should you discontinue taking any medication, including Chantix, without first consulting with your doctor.
