06/26/2008- A high-profile controversy has erupted over reports that the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has been conducting a clinical trial of Pfizer’s smoking-cessation drug Chantix on hundreds of veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) despite FDA warnings that the drug is associated with changes in behavior, agitation, depressed mood, suicidal ideation and suicide attempts.
