Ford Fire Lawsuits Spread

02/26/2008 - More than a hundred ford car and truck owners across the country are suing the company after fires erupted in their vehicles.

In some of these fire cases, the car owners died.

The lawsuits grow out of problems with a cruise control switch that was installed in as many as 16 million Fords.

Ford has recalled 10 million of these vehicles in seven recall efforts since 1999.
Most recently the automaker recalled about 225,000 cars because the very device to repair the fire hazard was inadequate.
