Gardasil Is Linked To Cases Of Teen Paralysis

07/09/2008- Boston (ECN) - The Merck & Co. cervical cancer vaccine known as Gardasil has been linked to teen paralysis.

The vaccine, which was approved by the FDA in 2006, has been linked to the paralysis of a 13-year old girl, as well as two other teenage girls.

This comes just after the FDA refused to approve it for older women.

According to reports, the 13-year old girl Jenny Tetlock began to develop signs of paralysis just a month after taking the vaccine.  Now, less than 2 years later, she is nearly completely paralyzed.

Neither Merck of the FDA have acknowledged the link as of yet, even though two more cases have popped up.
