FDA: Allergic reactions to heparin linked to 149 deaths

The FDA posted on its Web site that 149 deaths in the U.S. have been linked to allergic reactions to the blood thinner heparin; the count is up from 81 reported in April. Baxter International, prior to recalling its heparin earlier this year due to alleged contamination, provided half of the country's supply of the drug.
