I remember like it was yesterday. I started to feel shaky and dizzy, for absolutely no reason. Then the phone rang but when I answered it I started babbling and my speech was slurred. Luckily I took it off that day for good, before I saw my doctor.
Just recently I saw an ad about the possible side effects from the Ortho Evra Patch, including stroke. My reaction: Ohmygod, I was astounded! That was the first time I'd heard of any side effects. Then I went online and read about the number of women who had suffered from taking the Patch. I had no idea how dangerous it is. When my doctor prescribed the Ortho Evra Patch she just told me how to wear it; I would remember if she told me about blood clots and strokes as a result of taking it.
'Oh, that's cool,' I first thought, when I heard about the Patch, 'You don't have to take a pill every day'. It didn't stay cool for long. It didn't occur to me that I could have died until I started reading about the Patch. When something like this happens, you just think it happens to yourself until you read about others. To think that women have died, it is so sad. I wonder how many of those women had symptoms similar to what happened to me that day at work."
