Polaris ATV:
Polaris has recalled several models of its All-Terrain Vehicles (ATV) manufactured from 2004.5-2005. If these models are not identified, serious injury or death may occur. Polaris has already received 372 reports of the recall, none of which resulted in injuries however 20 reported fires and 9 others reported property damage.
Polaris ATV Recall?
The Polaris ATV recall is on nearly 100,000 models manufactured in late 2004 (2004.5) and 2005 model Polaris ATV's that were assembled with possible defective Electronic Control Modules (ECM) that may fail and/or overheat. This could cause a possible fire resulting in serious death and/or injury. The following models are:
- 2004.5 Sportsman 500
- 2005 Sportsman 400
- 2005 Sportsman 500
- 2005 Sportsman 600
- 2005 Sportsman 700
- 2005 Sportsman 6x6
- 2005 Scrambler 500
- 2005 Trail
Boss
- 2005 Magnum 330
How Is Polaris Addressing The Recall?
Polaris has notified registered affected consumers directly about the recall. Consumers should contact their Polaris ATV dealer to schedule an an appointment to get their ATV(s) fixed. Consumers should not use the ATV until the repair has been made.
