Polaris Industries Inc. has issued a recall of Outlaw IRS all-terrain vehicles that were manufactured from 2006-08 because of the potential of rider injury.
The recall is limited to OUTLAW 500 ''IRS,'' 2007 OUTLAW 500 ''IRS,'' 2007 OUTLAW 525 ''IRS'' and 2008 OUTLAW 525 ''IRS.''
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the Medine, Minn., company manufactured 11,300 of the Outlaw models that have independent rear suspension.
The models have a retention bolt that can come loose, causing the rear wheels to lock up. Polaris has received 11 reports of riders who loss control.
The ATVs were sold at Polaris dealers nationwide from January 2006 through January 2008 for $6,900 to $7,400.
Consumers should stop riding the recalled ATVs immediately, and contact any Polaris ATV dealer to schedule a free repair.
